While I would consider myself a "relatively" happy person, if you're anything like me, the end of the year always brings about a re-assessment of where you are in life, where you think you should be, and -- in most instances -- where you could have been had you chosen a different path.
As I continued my year-end cleaning -- closets, closets, and more closets -- and as I read magazines from my "collection" uring my breaks, I came across an old Oprah magazine with pages folded on a article titled, "The Rule of 10-10-10".
The article, written by Suzy Welch, provides some insight into decision-making that I have implemented in my own life and that I'd like to share with you. Noone that knows me would ever describe me as "flighty". I am, for the most part, very "solid" in my decision making, very rarely making "spontaneous" decisions. However, as I've gotten older I find myself beginning to struggle more with making the "right" decision. Weighing the implications of my decisions, over and over and over again.
This article offers a great strategy for making decisions that will help you think about its impact in 10 minutes, 10 months and 10 years.
Just some food for thought as the new year approaches.
